Glenda travelled on our Christmas in the Slovenian Alps tour in December 2018. She experienced a perfect Christmas with snow covered mountains, Christmas lights, warm log fires and Christmas cheer all around.

Why did you select this particular tour?

I chose this tour because I wanted to experience Christmas in Europe and hadn't been to Slovenia.

Who did you travel with?

I travelled solo.

Have you travelled with us previously?

No, this was my first Albatross tour.

What was your favourite place/s on your Albatross tour?

It's difficult to pick a favourite place as it was all amazing, but Slovenia was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

What was the most amazing thing you saw or did on your Albatross tour?

I think it would have to be our time at Lake Bled. Every room of our lakeside accommodation had a panoramic view of the lake, the castle and the church.

Then at night it was particularly scenic. There were snow covered mountains, Christmas lights, log fires, markets, food stalls a skating rink and people being happy. Just really beautiful.

Tell us about your most memorable moment on tour?

It was probably my very first mulled wine in Innsbruck at the Christmas market, with a brass band playing in the background under the Golden Roof.

Or it could have been the little choir boy singing Silent Night at midnight mass.

What was your favourite meal on tour?

In Kransjka Gora our Tour Manager recommended we try a small restaurant, where we had Slovenian Mushroom Soup, Antipasto and Buckwheat with Polenta.

What advice do you have for anyone interested in travelling on this tour?

Book early so you don't miss out.

Would you recommend this tour to family and friends?

Yes, because it was a really Christmassy Christmas. Once you have paid there is very little extra cost, unless you want to buy a lot of souvenirs, there is only the cost of lunch occasionally.
